Get to know how birch bark is harvested and prepared, and discover the possibilities of birch bark weaving with this introduction to plaited basketry. Students will make either a medium sized basket, or a small to medium sized pouch. The class will meet Thursday evening November 10 from 6pm – 9:30pm, and continue on Saturday, November 12 from 9am – 5pm. Open to those age 17 and above. Fee $85, all supplies and tools are provided. Limited to 8 students. Located in the Flaten Art Barn. There will be a 1-hour lunch break on Saturday; participants are encouraged to bring a bag lunch.
